Knowing When a Relationship is Over (Part 1)

Something's wrong. The change is sometimes so gradual that no one can determine what exactly went wrong. It’s probably nothing that either party did (or didn’t do). The sad fact is, the majority of relationships just reach an end, and neither party is to blame. Feelings change.

How can you tell the difference between a disagreement that can be resolved and an irreconcilable situation where one party wants out of the relationship and has not worked up the courage to tell their boyfriend/girlfriend directly? Ask the following questions.

1. Does your partner seem distant lately?
2. Does your partner start quarrels with you for no apparent reason?
3. Has your partner gotten in the habit of complaining?
4. Does your partner avoid talking about moving the relationship forward (even if you had previously discussed such issues)?
5. Are you spending less and less time with your partner?

If any of these scenarios sound familiar, you may have to brace yourself for the unhappy fact that the romance is at a dead end.
